Testimonials from our RV owner clients.
The staff at Modern Training was very knowledgeable and was well aware
of how to help me attain my goal. The training equipment offered was
excellent and well above my expectations. Having instructors that
are actual RV owners and sensitive to my Licence requirements made the
whole DZ program a delight. I would highly recommend this school to
anyone looking to get their DZ not only for the fact of getting the Licence
but the fact that actual defensive driving skills were attained.

Having the appropriate license for your particular RV / Motorhome is obviously necessary, particularly here in Ontario, where you live. If you use your Motorhome to travel, there is a good chance you will be questioned about licensing wherever you happen to be. In speaking with the folks at Modern Training we determined early on that a Class "D" license would probably be acceptable to any State Trooper, Provincial Officer, or Local Cop anywhere we went. I enjoyed the experience of learning about the safe operation and maintanance of a RV from the ground up. I left the course knowing that I could determine whether my vehicle was safe to drive on any given day, and that I could drive it safely under all conditions I was likely to encounter. The staff at Modern made it an enjoyable and much less intimidating process than it might otherwise have been. They made the classroom experience meaningful and easy to absorb, and their patient guidance while on the road resulted in a stress free learning process. I had been driving motorhomes for 6 years prior to being formally trained, but in the 2 weeks or so that I spent with these folks I became a much better, and a much more confident operator than I had ever been before. I highly recommend these folks to friends and owners I meet along the way and my Wife has completed the air brake portion and will begin the driver training shortly. This relatively small investment in time and money has gone a long way to insuring the very large investment I have in our motorhome, and in the safety of my family and all the others with whom I share the road.

It is official. I am now in possession of a DZ Licence. Thanks to the excellent in house training provided by Nick Korakas and staff at Modern Training. My wife and I have been touring in style for the past 5 years with a 36' gas powered motor home and this year we have purchased a Diesel Pusher 40 ft Winnebago Ultimate Freedom. While I thought I might need to upgrade my license I was surprised to learn that in addition to obtaining a Z endorsement {air brakes) I was also required to obtain a D endorsement (heavy truck) to legally operate the Motor Coach. This news was a little concerning as I had already purchased the Coach. Talk about having the cart before the horse. I had been given Nicks name by Roger from Sicard Holiday Campers.
I placed a call to Modern Training and explained my predicament. The staff was wonderful. I do believe a few strings were pulled to ensure that I was going to take part in the very next air brake class session. This course was two full days of in class training with eleven other fellows. Some were in training to become firefighters and others to drive truck, buses, or other. I was the only one taking the course for recreational purposes. So we had a real varied background of students. This course was delivered by Nick who really knows his stuff. Nick used all the tools, audio, visual, and real pieces of equipment along with the Truck Training Official Handbook on Air Brakes. Students were encouraged to ask questions and take notes that could be referred to at a later date. At the end of the second day we were given a test which was provided by the Ontario Ministry. I successfully completed the exam which allowed me to then proceed with the practical portion on a air brake equipped vehicle.
Obtaining the D portion of the Licence was made up of studying the Official MTO Truck Handbook and then writing a test at the Licensing office. We were encouraged first to go to Modern Training and take a mock test prior to visiting the ministry office. This proved a good move as I passed with only one error on the test. As I now possessed a temporary permit a schedule of driving instruction was given and I received 3 days of driving sessions. And wow! to top if off I was training on a 42' Coach.
I cannot tell you how much information and knowledge I gained during these courses. Thank you Modern Training. I highly recommend to all requiring DZ endorsements.
